Guess this church has never heard of like, Job, or Elijah, or David, or Jesus, even.

Girlfriend Nicole, satan worships NO ONE. He's a glory-hog who does not want to share the spotlight with humans. This is his purpose--to steal, kill, and destory the lives and SOULS of men, women, boys, and girls--not to worship anyone.
Satan thought he was going to take glory from God and have the angels in heaven worship him. Foolish thought. God KICKED him out of heaven. Yes!!! :-) Satan also wanted Jesus to bow down and worship him, but Jesus was too smart for that. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ sealed satan's fate. :-)
Nicole, I pray that you have Jesus in your life. I pray that you are saved and are covered under His precious blood. I pray that you worship Jesus Christ!!! Write me back Nicole.
Swing and a miss.
It's like getting a visit from a Jesus Robot.
And this church sign? Wow. Talk about alienating everyone who suffers from depression (I guess they haven't heard that it's a clinical disease, not just a mood mishap?) Holy fucking cow.
My guess is the church would say that depression is a sin, that someone who is depressed doesn't have enough faith. So they probably don't really care so much about alienating people. As a revival preacher once said in a service when I was growing up, "When I was a kid we didn't call it ADD. We called it sin."
The church sign reminds me of what I see happening when "Christian counseling" is done poorly -- people talk to me about feeling blamed for their mental illness, as if it's happening because they don't have enough faith.
On the other hand, GOOD Christian counseling can be a wonderful experience for people, where they see God as helping them through their difficulties, perhaps challenging them to address areas they hadn't looked at , etc.
"My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death."

Stick that in your church sign and smoke it, Northwoods dudes.
I saw this over at ninjanun's blog.
That is totally a stupid sign. I wonder if they also believe depression is an evil spirit that ought to be exorcised.
