Things about which I do not care...

Darwinism
Functionalism
Behaviorism
American Psychology
German Lab Tradition
Intellectual Assessment
French Clinical Tradition

but, Psychoanalysis...that's kinda cool.

That's what my review sheet said for History and Systems of Psychology. Just those 8 terms, with no explanation. Oh, we asked for an explanation, but it was more obscure than the study guide. I say, never trust a professor who doesn't wear socks.

Oh damn. I used to know what Functionalism was about. Can you remind me? And why is it not worth caring? ;)

Functionalism: William James's wonderful contribution to American Society, that it's not important what something is composed of, but rather it's function. Think of flow charts mapping your brain...what's important is the FUNCTION of the area, not its composition. Thank you William James.

I know this might be important to know, but I have to remind myself of that.

Hey, I just stumbled across your site through my visit referrals, and realized that you've listed me as meeting the criteria for neurosis. I have no idea who you are, but I'm so flattered that I'm going to add you to my blogs I read regularly list.

Seriously -- I'm lame, but that really made my day. ;)
