Skydiving

My friend A suggested we do more fun things together this year, not just boring school stuff. Well, she asked me to go skydiving. Have you ever been skydiving? Would you do it? Would you suggest it for me? I'm a little, well, a lot afraid of dying. It's not the skydiving part that I worry about. It's the part where my parachute doesn't work and I get caught on the wing of the airplane and die some horrible death. Yip. That's what worries. Oh, and telling my real weight.

Mr. Bubbles wants to do this.....I tend to side with you. Only I don't actually get to the jump part....my plane malfuntions and crashes....never flown before....can you tell? :)

I used to work in Insurance, and I'd say, unless you already have Life Insurance, this is not a wise decision.

Why?

Because when you apply for Life Insurance, they will ask you if you've ever sky-dived before, or if you are thinking of sky-diving in the future. Answering "yes" to either of those questions will immediately disqualify you for Life Insurance. And Life Insurance is definitely something you'll want to have if you ever plan on having children.

I guess it's just considered too high-risk of an activity for the ol' insurance companies. And since insurance risk is assessed from statistics, that should tell you something.

Guess we'd have to pay in cash.

Yeah, at nearly 2 c notes, I won't be skydiving. No way no how. Oh, and I don't have life insurance yet, I cdon't think. So nobody kill me until I do.

DO IT. I FELT THE SAME WAY BEFORE MY FIRST JUMP. YOU SHOULD START WITH A TANDUM JUMP AS YOUR SINCES WILL BE OVER LOADED. AS A TANDUM YOUR A PASSENGER GOING ALONG FOR THE RIDE WITH A JUMP MASTER. THERE IS "NO" SINCE OF FALLING. IT IS NOT LIKE A ROLERCOASTER. THE FREE FALL IS THE BEST PART OF THE JUMP. IS THERE A RISK! SURE, BUT DON'T DIE WITH THE WORDS ON YOU GRAVE "I WAS AFRAID TO DARE"

Holy Crap, you don't have to yell (typing in all caps=yelling)! You're not going to convince anyone how great your experience is by screaming at them.

hugs and smooches,

Oh, and as to your last thought:

I'd rather have "She lived a long and happy life, instead of dying ahead of her time by taking unnecessary risks" on my grave. But thanks for setting up a false dichotomy that anyone who would prefer to avoid sky diving is a coward.
